Full Time Nanny for 2-Year-Old

Available

Orinda, CA, USA

A warm and thoughtful family located in Orinda, CA (Northern California) is seeking a nurturing, proactive, and experienced career nanny to care for their bright and engaging 2-year-old. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood development and naturally incorporates music, movement, reading, imaginative play, and enriching activities into the child's daily routine. This is a live-out position with a tentative schedule of Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional date nights and optional domestic travel.

The nanny will plan engaging outings, transport the child to classes and local activities, prepare healthy toddler meals and snacks, and carefully follow all food safety guidelines, including managing the child's egg allergy. Responsibilities also include supporting daily routines, maintaining organized child-related spaces, completing the child's laundry, and communicating regularly with the parents about developmental milestones and daily activities. In addition to childcare, the role includes light house management tasks such as grocery shopping, organizing the kitchen and pantry, tracking household supplies, running occasional errands, and walking the family dog when childcare responsibilities allow.

The family values open communication, collaboration, and a calm, positive presence, and they are seeking someone who will become a trusted partner in their child's early years. Because Mom works from home and grandparents visit periodically, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working alongside family members while maintaining professionalism and confidence in their role. The family also follows thoughtful hygiene practices and asks their nanny to do the same by washing hands and changing into indoor clothing or shoes after returning home. They are looking for a dependable, warm, and organized professional who is excited to build a long-term relationship while creating a safe, enriching, and joyful environment for their child.

The family does not follow one specific formal approach, but is drawn to the spirit of Reggio
Emilia (exploration and expression through art, play, and inquiry), Montessori (self-directed
learning and problem-solving), and attachment-based care (responsiveness, closeness, and
emotional attunement). They are looking for a nanny who shares a deep respect for children's
natural curiosity, emotional lives, and developmental pace — someone who sees this work as a
meaningful profession and a genuine calling.
